No trip to island on September 28.
Sailing time is approximately 3 hours 45 minutes. Boat docks at the Rock Harbor main entrance on Isle Royale.

DAY TRIPS

Many people visit Isle Royale with us just for the day. Sailing time between Copper Harbor and Isle Royale is approximately 3 hours 45 minutes. This leaves around 3 hours on the island (usually about 2 hours of actual hiking time), before returning back to Copper Harbor.

PARKING

All parking now paid morning of departure. Cash, check, or credit cards accepted. Our parking lot is unsecured, but watched and very safe. No reservations needed.

Parking charges:

  • Cars, SUVs, Vans, Pick-Ups:  $10 per night  

  • Cars, etc. with trailers:  $15 per night

  • RVs over 24 feet and car-trailer units over 40 feet (please notify us):  $20 per night

Parking begins each sailing day at 7:00 am. An attendant shows you where to park. You may drive onto our dock to unload gear before parking. Please let us show you where to park. Do not park on your own. No camping of any kind -- in cars, tents, trailers, or RVs -- is allowed in our lot. Also not allowed is overnight parking when you are not on the island.

ISLE ROYALE USER FEE

The National Park Service levies a user fee for Isle Royale: $7.00 per day (not per night) per person 16 years and older, or $60.00 for an annual Isle Royale Pass covering the pass-holder and 3 other people for any length of time. ALL nationwide passes now cover the fee. Consult the NPS web site for information: www.nps.gov/isro/

The daily fee is paid in advance at www.pay.gov, search on "Isle Royale".  

CANCELLATIONS and CHANGES OF DATES

Cancellations and changes of dates are made by PHONE or EMAIL ONLY (906-289-4437, isleroyalequeen@gmail.com). There is no refund if you cancel or change the dates of your reservation less than TWO WEEKS (14 days) before departure time. Cancellations received with more than TWO WEEK notice will be sent an 85% refund. We levy no additional charge for changes of dates with more than two week notice. Failure to use a paid reservation on scheduled day of departure forfeits entire fare. If canceling or changing dates for all or part of a group of 10 people or more, notice of ONE MONTH is required for an 85% refund. ALL refunds are paid back your to credit card. Requests for cancellation can be emailed to isleroyalequeen@gmail.com.

SPECIAL DAY TRIP CANCELATION POLICY

Our day-trip policy, as a courtesy to our visitors, is that if conditions on Lake Superior involve average waves of 5 feet or more, and you are at our dock, and you choose not to go, we will refund 95% of your day-trip fare. Under some conditions, we reserve the right not to permit reserved passengers to take day trip. The decision is SOLELY the captain’s – in consultation with ownership. General poor land weather, such as rain, does NOT make you eligible for any refund or for going another day. If lake conditions do not permit, in general, at least a 2-hour stay at the island, you are refunded 100%.
